Outpatient Therapy

Rehabilitative Services at Westside Regional Medical Center provide treatments and therapies to help patients recover function and improve on quality of life.

Physical Therapy and Speech/Language Pathology at Westside Regional Medical Center includes patient and family education and the development of individualized care plans to encourage recovery and bring the patient to functional independence. Our Physical Therapists work with patients of all ages and within a wide range of diagnoses.

Certified Manual Therapy

Our outpatient physical therapist uses a “hands-on” approach to treat many of the ailments patients present with. Manual therapy encompasses the application of a direct force to a specific area of the body in order to restore mobility. This form of physical treatment uses techniques that include soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and various connective tissue techniques.

Lymphedema Therapy

Westside Regional Medical Center gives patients a comprehensive program for lymphedema management via compression bandaging, exercise, and drainage. Our focus is on extensive patient education in self management of lymphedema.

Incontinence Program

This program is offered to patients with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction. We use a biofeedback computer-based program called Pathway in order to retrain the pelvic floor muscles. This program focuses on improving urinary and fecal control as well as decreasing pain.

Whirlpool Treatment

Our facility provides whirlpool treatment to patients with open wounds as prescribed by their physician. Westside has two full body tanks, one upper extremity tank, and one lower extremity tank. Patients receiving whirlpool treatments can benefit from pain relief, wound cleansing, and improved circulation.
