Welcome to Westside-Northwest Emergency Medicine Residency Program. We are a three-year, ACGME accredited residency program taking our inagural PGY-1 class in July 2022. We are approved 13 residents per academic year.

Mission Statement

The Westside Regional Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency program’s mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the residents' clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values, and ideals.

Program Overview

The Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Westside Regional Medical Center is accredited and rigorously designed to train the next generation of physicians and physician leaders.

Our interdisciplinary approach to learning fosters excellent opportunities for professional growth, committed mentorship and clinical research. Alongside dedicated attending physicians and enthusiastic colleagues, residents strive for excellence in their training and provide high-quality healthcare in patient-centered environments and community-oriented service.

Frequently Asked Questions about our Emergency Medicine Residency Program

No, we will take 13 PGY 1’s per year until the residency is full after 3 years.

Westside Regional Medical Center and Northwest Medical Center will serve as the primary sites with a majority of the rotations throughout the 3 years taking place at these two facilities.

We carry initial accreditation through the ACGME

Will be offered on Wednesdays with residents having protected time to attend.

Residents may moonlight during their PGY 3 year if they have met all academic requirements, have Program Director approval, and within the ACGME guidelines.
