Dr. Hai is a board-certified surgeon who has over 30 years of diverse experience, especially in general surgery. Dr. Hai specializes in General Surgery, Trauma/Acute Care Surgery, and Critical Care Medicine. He is the Program Director for the General Surgery Residency here at Northwest and Westside Regional Medical Centers. He is very involved in research and is a guest lecturer at many symposiums and to many community groups locally and nationally.

Eric Kleinstein, MD

As a board-certified General Surgeon, Dr. Kleinstein's expertise and special interests are in Breast Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Thyroid Surgery, Complex Hernia Repairs and Wound Care. Dr Kleinstein was the first surgeon at Northwest Medical Center to perform a "SILS" Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (removing the patient's gallbladder through only one incision). Dr Kleinstein is currently Chief of Surgery at Northwest Medical Center.

Mark S. Shachner, MD, FACS

Dr. Shachner is a board-certified surgeon whose practice is devoted to minimally invasive surgery for GI malignancies, hiatal hernia and reflux conditions. He is one of a few surgeons in South Florida who performs high volume of Robotic Surgery for Hiatal Hernia, Colon Cancer, and Single Incision Gallbladder removal. He is the only surgeon in Broward County that performs the new Linx procedure for reflux.

Charles Lago, MD, FACS, FASCRS

A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Lago is a Diplomat of the American Board of General Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Colon Rectal Surgery. Dr. Lago is the Associate Program Director for the He also serves as the Chief of Staff for Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida and as Medical Director of Colon & Rectal Surgery at Coral Springs Medical Center. Brian Weinstein, MD, FACS

Dr. Weinstein is board-certified with a variety of interests in General Surgery. He is very involved diseases of the breast and performs minimally invasive breast biopsies using ultrasound and mammographic techniques. He is very experienced in both open and advanced laparoscopic techniques for hernia repair. Dr. Weinstein has performed robotic cases for gallbladder, hernia repair, as well as GastroEsophageal reflux and Hiatal hernia repair.

Charan Donkor, MD, FACS

Dr. Donkor is Board-certified in general surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the Society for Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Medical Association. He specializes in minimally invasive techniques for general and bariatric surgery. Dr. Donkor is an international lecturer within his specialty and has recently presented in Dominican Republic, Curacao, Trinidad, Ecuador, Argentina and the Bahamas.

Segundo Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Gonzalez is a double boarded surgical specialist, being a board-certified surgical oncologist and a board-certified general surgeon. He specializes in surgical diseases of the neck (e.g. thyroid and parathyroid), endocrine system, breast, gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary system, advanced skin malignancies, and other advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical procedures. He has published numerous papers on Cancer related topics.
