Awards & Recognition
Westside Regional Medical Center is an
accredited hospital by The Joint Commission
and is also a Joint Commission-designated
Advanced Primary Stroke Center. This
distinction for Primary Stroke Centers
recognizes WRMC in making exceptional
efforts to foster better outcomes for
stroke care. WRMC is also certified as
a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the
Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration.
Westside is certified and accredited by the
Society of Chest Pain Centers as a Chest Pain
Center with PCI and a designated Heart Failure
Center and is the first in the state of Florida to
be certified in atrial fibrillation by the Society
of Cardiovascular Patient Care. The American
Heart Association (AHA) awarded WRMC the
“silver award” for achieving 85% or higher
compliance to core standard levels of care
as outlined by the American Heart Association
for 12 consecutive months. This award level
represents provisions of the highest standard
of stroke care to patients. The AHA has also
recognized WRMC as a “Fit Friendly
Organization.” WRMC’s Cancer Program
received certificate of approval with
commendation from the American College
of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer (CoC).
By following the 36 standards set by the CoC,
WRMC was accredited, thus demonstrating the
ongoing commitment to providing high-quality,
multidisciplinary cancer care.
