has named University Hospital and Medical Center
a top performer in key quality and safety measures.
Our facility is fully accredited by The Joint Commission
and certified as a Primary Stroke Center.
Since opening in 1974, we’ve been a leader in bringing
breakthroughs in orthopedic care and joint replacement.
We are designated as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Distinction
Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, as well as awarded
with Disease Specific Care Certification in Total Hip and
Knee Replacement Surgery by The Joint Commission.
University Hospital and Medical Center continues to set
a standard of excellence in women’s services, emergency
care and behavioral health services. Our Women’s Center
offers digital mammography, stereotactic surgery
and advanced imaging for breast and bone health.
Our family-friendly emergency department
provides efficient, high-quality care and was
named favorite emergency department by the

Our range of behavioral health services includes
inpatient care for children and adults, and a

Emergency Department
At University Hospital and Medical Center, we

a day, 7 days a week. Our talented team of emergency
physicians, nurses and staff provides treatment to
patients with speed and efficiency, resulting in short
wait times and quick access to emergency care. When
patients arrive at the emergency department, they
are quickly triaged and evaluated within minutes of
arrival. Our bedside registration process increases
efficiency and prompt treatment. Advanced digital
imaging including ultrasound, MRI and CT scans
are readily available. Our family-friendly emergency
department offers pediatric areas decorated in an
ocean theme, providing a soothing environment to
parents and their children. Our facility provides
