University Hospital & Medical Center offers
laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding. For this
minimally invasive procedure, an adjustable band
is placed around the top of the stomach, which
results in a limited space for food and an earlier
sense of fullness. This outpatient surgery presents
fewer complications than alternative surgical
procedures and is the only method that is
completely reversible. Following the procedure,
our team works with patients to help them keep
the weight off and adjust to their new lifestyle.
