Orthopedic & Spine Institute
For decades, Westside Regional Medical Center
has been recognized for excellence in orthopedic
care. Our team of highly skilled physicians, nurses
and physical therapists provide a wide variety
of surgical and rehabilitative treatment options.
Westside Regional Medical Center performs more
orthopedic procedures than any other facility in
the region. Many of our surgeons and healthcare
professionals have trained at some of the most
renowned teaching institutions in the nation
and acquired advanced training in a number
of specialties, including hip and knee reconstruction,
fracture, spinal surgery, sports medicine, pain
management and rehabilitation services. From
pre-operative educational classes to follow-up
care, our patients receive the full continuum of
orthopedic care to help improve their quality of life.
Neurosciences
The Neuroscience Center at Westside Regional
Medical Center brings together the expertise of
highly skilled neurosurgeons, neurologists,
radiologists, neuroradiologists internists and
a neurointerventionalist. Together, these medical
and surgical specialists combine their expertise to
provide patients with the latest scientific advances
in their respective fields. Our comprehensive
program offers a full range of diagnostic modalities,
medical and surgical procedures, rehabilitation,
preventive care, and additional medical and support
services for patients with neurological disorders.
Westside has also been certified as a Comprehensive
Stroke Center by the Florida Agency for Healthcare
Administration. This designation enables us to
provide the most cutting-edge stroke care.
Our facility includes dedicated operating rooms
equipped with the latest surgical technology and
an intensive care unit that specializes in treating
neurosurgical patients.
Cancer Care
At Westside Regional Medical Center, our cancer
program combines the experience of some of the
leading cancer specialists in South Florida to ensure
the best outcome for each patient. Our expert team
specializes in breast, lung, prostate, dermatology,
gastrointestinal, colon and rectal, head and neck,
neurosurgical, pulmonary, interventional radiology,
nephrology, urology, hemotology/medical oncology,
radiation and surgical oncology. In addition, these
specialists rely heavily on the assistance of
radiologists, pathologists, psychiatrists, rehabilitation
specialists and anesthesiologists to provide the
finest cancer treatment. Our program is supported
by the expertise of more than 500 physicians on
staff, representing a wide range of specialties. This
collaborative effort includes participation at regularly
scheduled tumor-board meetings, which allows
physicians to confer on possible courses of treatment.
Taking a personalized approach to care, our team
of professionals prescribes each patient with a
treatment plan customized to the type and stage
of their cancer, as well as their overall health and
well-being. We utilize the latest treatments and
surgical procedures to aggressively and safely
treat cancer. Our cancer program has received
a certificate of approval with commendation from
the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American
College of Surgeons.
Robotic Surgery
Westside Regional Medical Center uses state-of-
the-art robotic surgery to enhance the advantages
of laparoscopic surgery. Our surgeons use the
da Vinci® Surgical System, the most technologically
advanced surgical robotic system in the world,
to perform complex surgical procedures through
high-definition cameras with unmatched precision,
control and range of motion. This advanced
approach allows for surgical incisions that are much
smaller and less traumatic than those required for
traditional surgeries. Our highly skilled team uses
robotic surgery to perform urologic, gynecological,
colorectal, general surgery and other minimally
invasive surgeries.
